Indian Rocks Beach has an old fashioned, small town feeling that both locals and visitors enjoy. In the 40's and 50's most poperties were quaint cottages ised as beach weekend retreats for Tampa residents. Today properties consist of single family homes, few original cottages, low-rise to mid-rise condos, townhomes, and income property. IRB receives its share of thousands of visitors throughout the yea seeking to relax by its tranquil surf. Known as 'The World's Safest Beach due to the numerous sand bars along its balmy seashore, the permanent population is about 4,200 residents. Every year, this appealing gulf beach community boasts fun filled festivals in April and November with great local food, arts and crafts and a band on the beach. With its many unique shops, parks, businesses, hotels and delicious restaurants, this town offers everything one could imagine. A ten-acres, waterfront nature preserve with a gazebo, boardwalk, educational kiosks, playgrounds and dock is currently under development to add to the town's charm. |
